Dog Catcher?

I'm currently (attempting) to write a business report on an animal welfare charity entering the chinese market, I'm having a lot of difficulty with some of the language as I'm still doing my first business language module. However, my biggest problem so far seems to be the fairly standard words/phrases as the dictionary I'm currently using is dodgy at best (forgot my plecodict at home! >.<)

Anyway, was hoping someone could help translate the word for dog-catcher, or those people you see running around Beijing trying to catch stray dogs to help aliviate the huge rabies problem. Oh, and if someone could also translate the phrase 'suffer needlessly' I'd be most grateful!

I suppose "Dog catcher" can be translated as "抓狗的"... I'm afraid it won't be very precise, perhaps others will have a better idea...

I am a Beijinger, yet I CAN'T see any dog catchers in the city, moreover, I haven't heard of there are any dog catchers in mainland China.

Dog catcher= 抓狗人 zhua1 gou3 ren2 (lit. person who catches dogs)

Needless suffering= 多于受苦 duo1 yu2 shou4 ku3 (lit. unnecessary suffering)

Or you can say: 大可不必受苦 da4 ke3 bu4 bi4 shou4 ku3 (lit. no need whatsoever to suffer)

Sophia_Shang: Well they tend to go out mostly when a stray has been reported but I talked to a group I met whilst in Beijing last summer, I guess they just blend in with the crowds most of the time
