lpascoe Posted May 21, 2006 at 06:52 AM Report Posted May 21, 2006 at 06:52 AM Can anybody help me? What is 沉澱 chen2dian4? I'm not having much luck with my dictionary and my housemate says it is too hard to explain. Context: ...讓我自我沉澱一下 Quote
roddy Posted May 21, 2006 at 07:11 AM Report Posted May 21, 2006 at 07:11 AM Dictionary says sediment or precipitation, but a couple of Googled examples seem to indicate it might be something like calm down, ponder, contemplate? Makes a certain amount of sense. I sometimes feel a need to sediment myself . . . Roddy EDIT: found another figurative meaning of 'accumulate' - perhaps something like 'let me gather my thoughts', 'let me get myself together' in English? Quote
lpascoe Posted May 21, 2006 at 11:54 AM Author Report Posted May 21, 2006 at 11:54 AM Thanks a lot Roddy! Given the interview it was from, I'd say "let me get myself together" is probably spot on. Quote
