randall_flagg Posted May 21, 2006 at 02:03 PM Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 at 02:03 PM Hi there! This friend of mine wants to know: "What's the most basic version of palm/pocket pc that runs plecodict smoothly?" I myself have the Tungsten T5, but have some reservation about recommending it. Any hints? Thanks, Randall
badr Posted May 21, 2006 at 02:09 PM Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 at 02:09 PM I'd say that any color-capable palm is good enough to run pleco. I have a friend who got a second hand palm m515 from ebay for $30 and it's running pleco on an expansion card like a champ. I personally recommend getting a new/used palm Zire71 (less than $100) on ebay as they're pretty solid machines.
billybot Posted June 18, 2006 at 03:28 AM Report Share Posted June 18, 2006 at 03:28 AM I am planning on buying a Palm at some point in the next few months, if only for running PlecoDict. I was wondering if anyone has experience buying them here in China: 1. What sort of modifications need to be made, i.e. can the language be switched onboard the unit, or do you need to purchase/procure English software? 2. Would Zhongguancun be the best place to look for units? 3. Is there any other modifications that would need to be made?
