Study Sep 06 Till Sep 07 (Accomodation Wanted)

Hey all, this is my first post here so i apologise in advance if its in the wrong place.

Before i begin ill quickly fill you in on my current status, im currently just starting a summer course at the BLCU after applying through an agency online and living with a host family for 3 months during my stay. Im from the UK and enjoying my stay in beijing very much.

I have decided i would like to continue my studies for a further year (sep 06 till sep 07) and am now in the process of lookng for accomodation and a course at the BLCU.

I have two questions;

1) Can anyone tell me the best way to apply for the course at the BLCU, i applied online through an agency however they want something like 3,000 USD for service fees which i think it a bit of a rip of. Im sure it would be alot easier just to go to the uni and ask but it seems this is also alittle difficult.

2) I wanted to know if anyone who is currently living near the BLCU has/would have a room available in a shared appartment for this period. It would be a long stay so i would be reliable for rent, im a good house mate, can cook and am very friendly.

Any advice on the above two questions would be greatly apprichated.

1. defintely there are better ways to apply, 3000USD is a big amount of money, approximately it's equivlent to ur one year's accomdation fee, don't do that~~~

2. it's not that easy to find an acommdation nearby, you can just stay in a hotel for a few days, then find a place and move, the dormtory on-campus are respectively expensive and the conditions are not good.
