semantic nuance Posted June 21, 2006 at 01:23 PM Report Posted June 21, 2006 at 01:23 PM sorry, I can't think of any chengyu related to it right now. But a phrase might seem appropriate for this phrase. In Chinese, there's a term 勞碌命(lao2 lu4 ming4) used to describe people who's always busy handling things.... Example: 他真是個勞碌命, 一刻都不得閒. Hope it helps! Quote
anonymoose Posted June 21, 2006 at 05:41 PM Report Posted June 21, 2006 at 05:41 PM 幸灾乐祸 is more like Schadenfreude, isn't it? Quote

Xiao Kui Posted June 21, 2006 at 09:31 PM Report Posted June 21, 2006 at 09:31 PM "no peace for the wicked" is originally a phrase from the Bible found in Isaiah 48:22 and Isaiah 57:21. In both instances it is translated as 恶人必不得平安! in the Union (most commonly used) version of the Chinese Bible. Unfortunately this is not a chengyu. I like nnt's suggestion, it's kind of like "what goes around comes around" 1 Quote
Scoobyqueen Posted September 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM Report Posted September 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM Just saw this one in the context of literature. Old style novels tend to end with the notion of 善有善报,恶有恶报 Quote
semantic nuance Posted September 14, 2011 at 03:04 AM Report Posted September 14, 2011 at 03:04 AM Just wondering if this no peace for the wicked is what OP had in mind. Context is important! Wondering if OP would ever come back here. Quote
