niubi Posted June 21, 2006 at 06:48 PM Report Posted June 21, 2006 at 06:48 PM i know its possible to design one's own course of study if you are doing one-to-one, but is it also possible in a way to be very specific if you want to take a particular course of studies combining group classes and individual study, particularly beyond the boundaries of the departments teaching chinese to foreigners. specifically, i would like to take a group class in classical chinese, beginning japanese, and a tutorial in chinese art history. my ideal would be to study at beida because there is a foreign teacher in the history department who is a ph.d. grad of the chinese art history program at princeton with whom i think it would be helpful for me to study considering that princeton is one of my top choices for graduate schools.
