juansalso Posted June 22, 2006 at 06:50 AM Report Posted June 22, 2006 at 06:50 AM I'm currently living in nanjing and have plenty of free time. I would love to find a good taiji instructor (preferably yang long form, but any style will suffice as long as it's a good master). I practiced yang long form for about 3 months in the US and would really like to start practicing again. I'm also interested in bagua. So if anyone knows of a good teacher or school in nanjing please let me know. thanks a bunch Quote
Heidegger Posted December 21, 2006 at 04:08 AM Report Posted December 21, 2006 at 04:08 AM Hi Juan, I have found a taiji teacher, Chen style, teaching on the Nanda campus. Not sure about her martial ability, but she is able to breath pretty far down, which is usually a good sign. Saturday afternoons at 4 pm, you have to ask around maybe to find her. I couldn't tell you how to get there but you can email me and eventually I'll get you the info. I am travelling right now , but will back in Nanjing mid January...if you are still living in Nanjing, that is... Quote
simonlaing Posted December 26, 2006 at 01:49 AM Report Posted December 26, 2006 at 01:49 AM Hey, I had a venezulan friend who learned Wushu and a little taiji in Wutai shan the big stadium place in the middle of town. Also Wutaishan offered taikwon do and another korean fighting style with lots of sparring. At the Nanjing Chinese traditional medicine they had Kendo on Saturday nights (people with big wooden sticks and minimal armor fighting, pretty cool.) I have seen what I think is Wushu in Nanjing Normal (Shifan) University , over the big tunnel that leeds to the cafeteria. Plus there are some places in Xinjiekou and Nanjing University over the swimming pool (Though this might be taekwon do again. I hope this is helpful. have fun, simon:) Quote
