Lugubert Posted June 23, 2006 at 09:30 AM Report Posted June 23, 2006 at 09:30 AM Readiris Pro 7 can be supplemented with a Chinese module. It reads directly from a scanner or from a jpg file. One day, several combinations of computers and scanners failed. Then I took a photo (target: a Renmin Ribao article) and ran the jpg in Readiris. Excellent result. A month later, with more time to spare, I tried a scan again to identify the problem. No problems, very good recognition. Sometimes results are more than 90% correct, sometimes the font and/or its size creates huge problems. Perhaps there's a setting I've overlooked, but I have had little success with mixed Latin-Chinese documents. They claim it should work. Results are in rtf format. If you're interested, have a look at www.irislink.com. The latest Windows version, Readiris Pro 11 Asian, seems to be at about USD 200. There's also a Mac OS version. Quote
