Correspondence in Classical Chinese

I recalled that during Grade 5/6, one class a week was devoted to the correspondence course which language was mostly written in Classical Chinese.

In the class, you had to figure out how to label the father-in-law of your cousin on your mother's side,....etc.

And there were set formats and phrases to say hello to certain relatives,...etc.

For 5th/6th graders who had not even started learning Classical Chinese, that was really tough for me.

Do they still have such courses in primary school in Mainland/Taiwan/HK?

Maybe we should have kept all these "hello"'s.

Wife:”

They teach you "你好”.

How do you label your cousin's father in law? How do you label your sister's father in law?

Maybe just 前辈,老爷,or 先生?
