Lu Posted July 4, 2006 at 05:53 PM Report Posted July 4, 2006 at 05:53 PM I'm translating two chapters of Mian Mian's book 熊猫, which is set in Shanghai. I came across the word '花园' (as in 新外滩花园, 北外滩花园) several times, I only know this word as meaning 'garden' or maybe 'park', but here it seems to be used as a term for a place where people live. Can anyone here shed some light on this word, what exactely is meant by it? 多谢! Quote

gougou Posted July 5, 2006 at 02:50 AM Report Posted July 5, 2006 at 02:50 AM In the English translation of those apartment blocks, it is used as “garden" as well, such as 经典花园, Kingdom Gardens. Quote
