i'm planning on moving in with my chinese girlfriend in a month or so, and i'm wondering

if anyone here ran into any problems in terms of residency.

when we go to the police station to register my residence, am i renting? if so, do i need

to produce a 'contract.' or am i home-staying? otherwise, how do you say 'shacking up'

in chinese?

I have been doing this for over a year now, and there does not seem to be any problem but I guess someone can always find it a problem if you get unlucky. In my apartment block, there is a notice in english and chinese saying that co-habiting is not allowed, but I dont know whether this is standard or just particular to where I am living. My gf owns her own apartment so we fixed up a 'rental agreement' which I think I remember we had to show them the first time, but the second time, I dont think the psb bothered. Visas seem to be what they look at most. Maybe someone else can shed more light on it for you. cheers.

No. You're Free-Loading. Why don't you get married and "own" your relationship?
