can you help me learn the verbs for violent actions? when chen shui bian shot two years ago, i was in a cafe and someone asked me what happened. i have no idea still how to say "got shot."

this is also something for me to know when speaking about martial arts

how do you say the following:

get shot/shoot someone

get stabbed/stab someone

hit with head(head butt e.g. zidane)

knee someone

strike with stick/staff/bat

tackle someone

are there formal words for these verbs in chinese?

back fist

kick

hit with shin

push with the foot as a kick/stepping on a body part

elbow

trip

uppercut

lock a joint

choke

stab with fingers

jab/cross/hook

any other interesting violent verbs? thanks

Too bad these words don't come up too often in [POP=wei2 qi2 Go, black and white board game that looks like Othello]围棋[/POP] or ballroom dancing. Otherwise you could easily learn them from listening to the play by play on CCTV-5

枪毙 (qiāng bì) is the verb for shoot.

stab - 刺 (cì)

headbutt - 头撞 (tóu zhuàng)
