magores Posted July 11, 2006 at 01:23 PM Report Posted July 11, 2006 at 01:23 PM I messed up when I came to Beijing.... I didn't bring enough books to read. I'm wondering if there is any kind of informal book exchange in Beijing? aka... I'll give you 1, if you give me 1 in exchange. I'm not talking about school books... I'm referring to books just for fun. I've got things like P.K. Dick, R Ludlum, C Cussler, W Gibson, some hardcore math theory (not a schoolbook, I swear), etc that I would be willing to trade for something else. And, then later, trade the new stuff for newer stuff. Anything like this exist already that I don't know about? Magores Quote
axene Posted July 11, 2006 at 01:39 PM Report Posted July 11, 2006 at 01:39 PM That's what I have (not many though). I'd be happy to loan them/ trade them. I'm also seeking (good) fiction and stuff that's somehow related to China and Korea. I could try reading some math theory, I suppose... ; ) Quote
magores Posted July 11, 2006 at 01:57 PM Author Report Posted July 11, 2006 at 01:57 PM I might enjoy the political history stuff. (Degree in History) As for "good fiction" ... The PK Dick I have is good. Think of "Do Androids Dream of Sleep" (aka BladeRunner... Thats him.). I have "A Scanner Darkly" on my shelves here. The movie comes out soon I think. I do have some classics as well. Treasure Island, War of the Worlds, etc. The math book I mentioned is: "E: The story of a number". E is an interesting ummm.... number? Same author wrote "To Infinty and Beyond" which I thought was pretty good too. Trades, Loans, whatever... I'm easy. Just need something new to read. Quote
