Guest dmrt_ Posted July 12, 2006 at 09:20 PM Report Posted July 12, 2006 at 09:20 PM Hi. I'll be staying in Nanjing this fall taking a short Chinese course. Two schools I've talked to so far are Nanjing University and Nanjing Normal University. Has anyone had experience staying in one of these places: - Nanshan Hotel - International Students Dorm They are offered as housing options. I wonder if I should take them or look for place to stay elsewhere myself. Thanks if anyone can post any info (cleanliness, noise, theft, etc.). Other suggestions of inexpensive housing would be also appreciated. Quote
NYC Posted July 14, 2006 at 02:09 AM Report Posted July 14, 2006 at 02:09 AM If the ISD is Xiyuan, then I was there back in 98. The rooms are bare except for your bed, desk, closet and drawers, w/ tv and a ceiling fan There is no fridge, bathroom, heating, but an AC at extra cost. There are kitchens on some floors if you want to cook. However there are "luxury" rooms on top that look like hotel rooms, of course at a premium. Many foreigners around to socialize with though. It's quite noisy due to an intersection below. The area pretty much has what you need within walking distance (even a McD and KFC!). NJNU is also in the area (a 10 min walk). Sorry I don't know about Nanshan though. Quote
