angel22 Posted July 18, 2006 at 05:10 PM Report Posted July 18, 2006 at 05:10 PM Does anyone know, approximately, how much it is for a professional translation of a financial document? Maybe a price per page or such? Any feedback is helpful, thank you. Quote
roddy Posted July 19, 2006 at 02:04 AM Report Posted July 19, 2006 at 02:04 AM You're not telling us where you are located, if it's C>E or E>C, what kind of quality you need, etc, so it's pretty hard to give you any kind of specific answer. Quote
angel22 Posted July 19, 2006 at 01:05 PM Author Report Posted July 19, 2006 at 01:05 PM It's from chinese to english, the quality is fine, about 13 pages, mostly charts. Quote
roddy Posted July 19, 2006 at 01:10 PM Report Posted July 19, 2006 at 01:10 PM Translation firms in Beijing would probably start at about 100Y-150Y per thousand characters (the usual unit for C>E translation pricing), but they may well try and charge you a hell of a lot more if they think they can -ie technical content, rush job, etc. If you take the lowest rate you find you're likely to get something done by an underpaid non-native speaker of English with no financial knowledge. If you pay a bit more you might get something better, but it's not guaranteed. Get a sample before committing to anything. There was a long discussion on rates for native English speaking freelance translators in Beijing recently which might also be useful. You could also try asking for quotes on Proz.com. Quote
