aribomop Posted July 20, 2006 at 03:36 PM Report Posted July 20, 2006 at 03:36 PM Hi all! As part of an exchange programme with my uni, i'm spending the academic year studying at Beijing Institute of Economic Management. Will be flying out in August, yey! Only problem, they haven't told me anything about it! Does anyone know where it is or even if it's a decent place to study Chinese. Eternally grateful Ari Quote

onebir Posted July 23, 2006 at 07:40 AM Report Posted July 23, 2006 at 07:40 AM i actually spent 2 weeks studying there in spring 2003 - but made a quick getaway when some of the chinese students caught SARs and the school was closed temporarily it's in wangjing, on huajia di jie. nearest landmark is the lido hotel. 20min bus to dongzhimen metro. they use university published texts (cant remember which - but that means heavy emphasis on characters), students of chinese were mainly be asian, 12-14 in classes, teachers & admin pretty competent. if you're level of writing is up to speed with your spoken chinese and char recognition, i think it'd be fine. (if like me, your writing is way behind, it's not so good). Quote
andychao Posted August 1, 2006 at 03:33 AM Report Posted August 1, 2006 at 03:33 AM it's a very small private college, very few Chinese people heard of that. Quote
