ocpaul20 Posted July 30, 2006 at 06:13 AM Report Posted July 30, 2006 at 06:13 AM What are your blocks to learning? Here are some of mine and the ones I can think of. Since we are anonymous here you can really open up your heart and tell us truthfully. Please add your own comments and thoughts to this thread 1) what are the things which stop you learning or progressing ? Obviously the normal things like environment, teacher, skill level, etc but anything else? 2) when you want to say something in a situation - what stops you from even trying? 3) what stops you from joining in a conversation - not good enough? Lack of confidence - lack of vocabulary? - brain does not work fast enough to understand/interpret what someone is saying - dont understand ALL of what is being said - your contribution to the conversation is not interesting 4) what are you afraid of? - looking stupid, being laughed at - getting it wrong - saying the wrong thing - embarassing yourself - offending others by saying the wrong words/tones - never being good enough Quote
zarathustra Posted July 30, 2006 at 08:52 AM Report Posted July 30, 2006 at 08:52 AM Looking into books about learning help a lot. You'll learn a lot about how people learn and what stops them. I really like Donna Cercone's audio book, Mega Learning. http://www.cerconelearning.com/home.htm Quote
