patvas2004 Posted August 2, 2006 at 04:50 PM Report Posted August 2, 2006 at 04:50 PM Who has been using and knows well the "Boya Chinese" recent method in 9 volumes written by Beijing Daxue ? I read on backcover that these books bring us from HSK level 1 to HSK level 11 (the top advanced level). Is it really true ? All of about 2200 Hsk characters and 8800 Hsk words are they in these books ? Can anyone give us any feedback on these material compare to the other older methods ? Or give us the only one best of the chinese method for foreigners ? It'll be a good idea to do a hit parade of these methods. djwebb2004 Posted December 13, 2006 at 08:44 AM Report Posted December 13, 2006 at 08:44 AM The answer is that the book claim that you can "basically" reach a level 11 after completing their course. 学习完三册书后,基本可以达到HSK的11级水平. That "jiben" probably accounts for the fact that you need to have fully mastered the material, be able to use it all in practice and recognise it aurally and in reading with no problem. But the book in the preface claims to introduce in 9 volumes, 10000 words and 2000-2500 characters. But the HSK vocab is 8840 words and 2907 characters. Quote
