griz326 Posted August 3, 2006 at 02:39 PM Report Posted August 3, 2006 at 02:39 PM I am entertaining the idea of teaching English in China. My concern is that I do not have a college degree. However... I worked as a broadcast and newspaper journalist for 20+ years. That experience included several years of hosting radio talk shows. I work as a Senior Principle Information Developer (top writer) for a global corporation. And I taught network protocol analysis, networking technology, and network security for about 6 years. I also do close-up magic ;) Will the lack of a college degree be a show stopper? Or will my working credentials cover the deficiency? Quote

griz326 Posted August 4, 2006 at 10:16 PM Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 at 10:16 PM Thank you for the thread link I've read them. It sounds as if I'd better do it now or it will be too late. Will getting certifications be helpful? I found these online training courses offered...and of course there are many more: http://www.tesolonline.com/online-courses.html http://www.teflcourses.com/viewPages.php?pageid=10657 And one more question: If I prove to be a good English teacher, will compensation improve?
