AlpenLisi Posted February 26, 2004 at 12:56 PM Report Posted February 26, 2004 at 12:56 PM First of all, I'm a student (major Chinese language & culture) from Austria and I would like to say hello! I would not have found this forum, if I would not be searching for an answer to my question ;)... I will be doing an internship in an austrian company in Beijing in summer and I wondered about a cheap accomodation for the period of about 6 weeks. I studied in China (Dalian) for some time before, so I'm not "new" to China, but I have never been to Beijing for more than just a few very short visits and don't know the town actually. The company is situated in Jianguomenwai-area and I hope to find some place to live not too far away. Is there anybody here, who can give me advice? I really would appreciate it, thank you ... Quote

beijingbooty Posted April 15, 2004 at 08:33 PM Report Posted April 15, 2004 at 08:33 PM all you have to do, is jump on the net, fire up your chat software, go the chinese channels and advertise the fact that you are willing to give free english practice in exchange for accommodation. There are thousands and thousands of eager english students in china that will willingly exchange accom. for the opprotunity to have a native english speaker live with them for a while. Its as simple as that - trust me. Quote
cathaykid Posted April 18, 2004 at 02:37 PM Report Posted April 18, 2004 at 02:37 PM but i thought an Austrian's native language should be something like Deutsch.....? Quote
