[欧阳江] Posted August 21, 2006 at 04:30 AM Report Posted August 21, 2006 at 04:30 AM Did you make it? 不错! Altough I don't like using Microsoft software to open documents (hey, Word is a piece of crap program!). You should save it in a less crapy format like .RTF or .PDF. Otherwise, good workin! Quote
Weronika Posted August 21, 2006 at 08:24 PM Author Report Posted August 21, 2006 at 08:24 PM thanks, yes I did it and I'll do the other lessons too, I think it's useful for students who study from Teach Yourself chinese book. This book is quite good for beginners I think. For "kudra"'s advise, i replaced the word idiom to 'words' because they are not idioms. Sorry for that mistake I'll try another format. Quote

atitarev Posted August 22, 2006 at 04:22 AM Report Posted August 22, 2006 at 04:22 AM You're welcome. Not sure if we can keep it there for copyright reasons (sh) but here's more I spent a lot of time on it but there's no point for me keeping it just for myself here's more Teach Yourself Beginner's Chinese this text was purely in pinyin, I converted it to Chinese characters, error-checked several times I still have some doubts about the choice of characters for a few personal names but I checked with native speakers some of them (on this forum too) Teach Yourself Beginners' Chinese - all units.doc Quote
Weronika Posted August 23, 2006 at 03:19 AM Author Report Posted August 23, 2006 at 03:19 AM Yes I thought the copyright thing too, so it's ok -> (sh) . The teach yourself beginner is another book? I think so. Thanks atitarev, it's very useful for me. So thanks again! :* Quote
atitarev Posted August 23, 2006 at 03:44 AM Report Posted August 23, 2006 at 03:44 AM I see there were a lot of downloads of both files. Any feedback/corrections will be appreciated. Quote

atitarev Posted August 23, 2006 at 03:51 AM Report Posted August 23, 2006 at 03:51 AM The teach yourself beginner is another book? Yes, it's a different book and it has more and better audio and learning pace is much more consistent. The main drawback was missing Chinese characters. http://www.teachyourself.co.uk/lbegChi.htm I see there were some downloads of both files. Any feedback/corrections will be appreciated. Quote

atitarev Posted August 26, 2006 at 12:30 PM Report Posted August 26, 2006 at 12:30 PM Thanks Weronika. I checked "Teach Yourself Chinese" less thoroughly than "Teach Yourself Beginner's Chinese", although I had the book to consultfor correct characters. Quote

atitarev Posted September 18, 2006 at 02:35 AM Report Posted September 18, 2006 at 02:35 AM 自己来吧! - Please help yourself! 来 replaces some verbs in some expressions but I can't give you the rules Quote

digmen1 Posted September 22, 2006 at 08:18 AM Report Posted September 22, 2006 at 08:18 AM Weronika These files are not very helpful. How can you teach yourself Chinese if there are not any English or French or Spanish words for the native speaker of those languages to be able to read and understand. If I sent you a few pages of Thai characters it would not help you learn Thai would it ? Kind regards Digby Quote
roddy Posted September 22, 2006 at 08:52 AM Report Posted September 22, 2006 at 08:52 AM The files are meant to be supplementary to a course entitled Teach Yourself Chinese. Trying to use them as standalone resources probably won't be very successful - although the file I just downloaded does have pinyin, English and what I can only assume is Budapestian next to the characters. Weronika Posted September 22, 2006 at 06:06 PM Author Report Posted September 22, 2006 at 06:06 PM these are for those who use the book of teach yourself chinese for using it on computer, for vocabulary if you don't have the book you can't use that (Budapestian: it's so funny) Quote
Xiaohua Posted September 23, 2006 at 05:52 AM Report Posted September 23, 2006 at 05:52 AM I've tried all of these, and they have helped me a great deal with my chinese. Quote
