Crivens200 Posted August 21, 2006 at 08:03 AM Report Posted August 21, 2006 at 08:03 AM Wonder if anyone can give me some recommendations on good bars to go to in Beijing? I'm heading to Beijing for filming at the CCTV studios so would be good to go out at night time. I used to live in Beijing but last time I was there the few bars I used to go to appeared to have been knocked down. I guess there's all the bars in hou hai now but they all just seem to be a bunch of sofas placed on the street. I used to like Hidden Tree for a pizza - is that still there? Also used to hang out in jin wan ba dian near the zoo but that's gone now. That's my favourite sort of bar - not too many foreigners and a bit of a buzz. Any recommendations? Cheers Quote
Taibei Posted August 21, 2006 at 05:18 PM Report Posted August 21, 2006 at 05:18 PM My friend Beijing Boyce's newletter is just the thing you need. The Shanghaiist has a sample online. Even those who aren't in Beijing or into bars might find it of interest, as the author is an entertaining writer.
