dmr1203 Posted August 22, 2006 at 09:01 PM Report Posted August 22, 2006 at 09:01 PM Hello. I am registered for the HSK in October. I am in school in the US in a beginning Mandarin class, and want to know if someone can give me a hint of what area of characters I should concentrate on for the beginning level of the HSK? My teacher works for the Beijing Normal Universityin the summer and here in the US during the school year. If I know some characters that would help me, then I wouuld spend the next 2 months concentrating on them. Can anyone help? xie xie:lol: Quote

kudra Posted August 23, 2006 at 02:06 AM Report Posted August 23, 2006 at 02:06 AM http://www.chinese-forums.com/vocabulary/ is a data base with the vocabulary. The following site seems to be broken, but if you can get it to come up, it has a practice test. http://www.hsk.org.cn/english/Intro_sample.aspx Also, if I remember it talks about how many hours or years of study, and roughly # of characters correspond to which HSK level. There is a pdf of a sample test, and an audio file for the listening part. Depending how much you want to spend on prep books there is a thread on hsk prep books. http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/953-preparation-books-for-hsk A list of flashcards for plecodict, but you might be able to read it in word or something like that http://www.plecodict.com/dictaddons.html presumably the plecodict flashcard file is from the database mentioned at the top.
