Postal delivery in Beijing

Im in a need of recieving a farily large parcel from overseas but I'm sort of wondering how this works in china. Do I like sign up for like a post box or what kind of adress should I use since I live on the BLCU campus? I know there's a postal office five minutes from here but I have no idea how this stuff works.

What should happen is that the parcel will go to the post office, and you'll get a card from them (sent via the normal post) telling you to go and collect it. You'll need your passport - and check on the card which post office it's at, it isn't necessarily the closest one. Not sure what your address is, obviously, but asking around should solve that . . .

I guess a PO Box should be an option, but I've never used one myself.

Allright. What I'm still wondering is how the post office will know where I live. Will that be sorted out when I go through the procedure to gain a residence permit or what?

doesn't blcu have a mailroom on campus where you can receive mail?

the chinese studies office should be able to provide you with an

address where they receive student mail.
