accomodation in kunming

hi,i'm going to kunming for the spring semester of 2007..i've already asked info about accomodation but from the university they said it's not good to rent a room in campus just for few months because a room in campus is suitable for those who will stay the whole year..so i need some suggestions:where to check(when i'll be in kunming),which are the expenses for room and apartment(i prefer low-budget)of if it's possible to search something on the web.

you can stay in the student dorms (crowded and small) or at the uni's intl student housing

(pretty expensive). best thing to do is stay at intl housing at the uni for a few days, and

check the billboards on wenlinjie at the cafes. you should be able to find something

suitable for 500-600.

yepper, that's per month. you can find a decent place within 15-20 min bus ride for

500-650 monthly no problem. or you can share for 300-450 closer in to the unis. of

course the cost goes up as you near green lake.

I plan on going with my boyfriend to Kunming for the spring semester, which I think starts at March. Do you know what options couples have? How much time does it usually take to find an apartment, resonably priced and located, once we get there?
