imron Posted June 21, 2007 at 04:48 PM Report Posted June 21, 2007 at 04:48 PM Believe it or not, posting the same question over and over, in several different threads (including threads that are not related in anyway to your question) doesn't actually help answer the question. Making just one post, either as a new thread, or by posting in another *relevant* thread, is enough. Otherwise, you'll just annoy people. Quote
Strawberries513 Posted June 21, 2007 at 07:34 PM Report Posted June 21, 2007 at 07:34 PM Yes, sweetie, You're not going to get help that way. How about being more mature and asking once and in the right forum, and naming your thread something more appropriate, k? Quote
skylee Posted June 21, 2007 at 11:09 PM Report Posted June 21, 2007 at 11:09 PM The question has been answered in this thread -> http://www.chinese-forums.com/showthread.php?p=110962#post110962 Quote

trien27 Posted July 4, 2007 at 11:29 PM Report Posted July 4, 2007 at 11:29 PM no such thing in Modern Chinese?! maybe it's in another language? Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese Chu nom? Quote
kkmp008 Posted July 5, 2007 at 12:33 PM Report Posted July 5, 2007 at 12:33 PM It's not a Chinese character. It's even written in the wrong way. At least there are two mistakes from the point of view of Chinese calligraphy: 1) The longest horizontal line (倒数第五笔,横): the bump on the left side of the line should be on the right side; 2)The curve at the bottom right( 最后一笔,捺): the curve should be wide on the head and narrow down to the tail. Lu Posted July 5, 2007 at 01:08 PM Report Posted July 5, 2007 at 01:08 PM Could it be Chu Nom?Could it be Xu Bing?Lalajla, where did you see this character? Quote
skylee Posted July 5, 2007 at 01:20 PM Report Posted July 5, 2007 at 01:20 PM That doesn't really look like Xu Bing. Xu Bing looks Xixia. Quote
Lu Posted July 8, 2007 at 01:15 PM Report Posted July 8, 2007 at 01:15 PM What's Xixia? The dynasty? Did they have their own characters? Quote

madizi Posted July 11, 2007 at 09:00 PM Report Posted July 11, 2007 at 09:00 PM I get really depressed when I see T-shirts and bedclothes with signs that look like Chinese characters but, in fact, are not. And then I get more depressed when I have to tell people that marks on their shirts are not characters. They come very happy to me and tell me:"Look, I have T-shirt with Chinese characters," And then, when I tell them the truth, they leave..... unhappy. Quote
